Project Description: Decarbonisation at Askern Leisure Centre

Askern Leisure Centre was the last coal-powered leisure centre in the UK, and as part of a £1 million mechanical ‘enabling’ works project, Climatix Group LTD was tasked with helping the centre reduce its carbon footprint. The expert team at Climatix Group LTD was up for the challenge and undertook the decommissioning of the existing boiler, which was replaced with new 400kW air source heating equipment.

The services provided by Climatix Group LTD included full design and development utilizing Revit and AutoCAD, domestic services using HT ASHP equipment, full mechanical ventilation services, pool heating using ASHP/PHX, kitchen ventilation, BMS controls, and full heating services using ASHP’s. These services were critical to the success of the project, ensuring that the leisure centre was equipped with the latest technology and systems to reduce its carbon footprint.
